Holy Cross is a confessional Lutheran Church.  As such, we teaching nothing contrary to what is confessed in the Confessions of the Evangelical Lutheran Church, as contained in the Book of Concord.  The word "confess," derived from Latin, literally means "same-say."  As a confessional Church, we believe, teach and confess only what the Lord has first delivered in His Word.  As such, we stand in accordance with what our dear Lord Jesus says to His disciples, "Therefore everyone who confesses Me before men, I will also confess him before My Father who is in heaven" (Matt. 10:32).  Our "confession" is a same-saying, or repeating back before man what God has first delivered to us.  As such, we make these confessions our own because they are in full accord with the Word of God.

Feel free to browse these confessions on your own through the links below.  A great starting place would be the Small Catechism.  If you have any further questions about what Lutherans believe, teach and confess, please do not hesitate to contact Pastor Fouts.
